Senior Reinsurance Accountant

Oliver James are currently recruiting for a Senior Reinsurance Accountant , this is a permanent role with an insurance client in London. You will be involved with ceded reinsurance accounting and looking at reports and statements for the ceded team.

To be considered for this role you will need:

• Relevant experience in a insurance or reinsurance company - in a relevant role.
• Understanding of functions pertaining to ceded reinsurance or insurance accounting.
• Knowledge/experience with Global XL Pro system or other RI system is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of SQL is preferred.

A snippet of the roles responsibilities are below to give you an idea of what you would be involved in:

• Ensure and deliver timely quarterly financial reconciliations of ceded reinsurance related accounts in support of the companies consolidated US GAAP financial statements and local accounting and regulatory standards.
• Liaise closely with the Ceded buyers, underwriting, claims, and actuarial departments to ensure the proper interpretation and recognition of complex reinsurance agreements.
• Accounting of ceded balances held outside of XL Pro (e.g. manual adjustments).
• Prepare and analyse financial reports related to reinsurance activities.
• Support the design, implementation and maintenance of a consistent control framework, which is compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley, covering both reinsurance placement and accounting. Support the implementation of the companies Insurance Ceded Reinsurance system for International (e.g. Syndicate), including the cash modules.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies related to reinsurance accounting.
