Senior Reinsurance Technician

Salary is up to £82,000 plus excellent Bonus (20% on target and up to 40% acheiveable) 12% non contribution pension, Private Medical for you and your family plus much, much more.

Location: London (Office based)

The Role:

As a Senior Ceded Reinsurance Technician, you will be reporting to the Ceded Reinsurance Technical Operations Manager and supporting them in delivering timely and accurate post placement administration of the groups ceded reinsurance programme. This role will be the number 2 in the team

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Ceded Reinsurance Technician:

• Manage and administer ceded reinsurance contracts to include the calculation and processing of M&D Premiums, premium adjustments, quota share statements and bordereaux
• Ensure all ceded reinsurance contracts are accurately recorded and administer payment requests and credit control recoveries balances
• Act as SME and primary contact for the Ceded Re Operations teams obligations and ensure other technicians in the team are meeting expected standards and deadlines
• Provide pro-active customer service to operations, underwriting, actuarial, IT and finance teams.
• Be actively involved in the on-going development of the Company’s reinsurance administration procedures and systems
• Leading contribution to the Ceded RI workstream of the Business Transformation project
• Assist in the preparation of various information to aid the analysis and placement of reinsurance programmes
• Analyse and evaluate reinsurance program effectiveness
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders
• Collaborate with underwriting and claims teams to optimise reinsurance strategies
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies

• Undertake any reasonable duties as may be requested by the Ceded Reinsurance Technical Operations Manager.

Required knowledge and experience for the Senior Ceded Reinsurance Technician role:

• Extensive experience in ceded reinsurance within the insurance industry with min 5 years of experience in a similar role
• University degree (ideally Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics etc)
• Possess a great level of systems and data knowledge and a strong understanding of technical ceded RI concepts.
• Demonstrable experience of project work
• Strong technical knowledge of reinsurance principles and practices
• Experience of working with live businesses and not legacy business
• A strong eye for process improvement and experience of mentoring junior employess
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft including advanced Excel (V Look ups and Sumifs)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in reinsurance software and data management tools
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
