to be recruiting experienced Senior Grooms for a unique opportunity within a high-security
equestrian environment.

This is a both an exciting and
unique opportunity for an experienced equestrian professional to work with a
variety of high-quality horses, including young and developing horses, within a
highly structured and professional setting.

The successful candidate will
play an important role in the exercise, schooling, development and day-to-day
care of horses, working alongside an experienced team to ensure they are fit,
healthy and prepared to the required standard.

About
the Horses

The role will involve working
with a variety of horses, including:

·        Irish
Draughts and Sport Horses, generally ranging from approximately 15hh to 17.3hh.

·        Larger
traditional breeds including Shires and Clydesdales.

·        Young and
developing horses at various stages of training.

·        Horses
requiring bespoke training, rehabilitation and behavioural development.

The
Role

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-day leadership and support to the
  grooming team, coordinating workloads and ensuring consistently high standards
  of horse care, welfare, training and stable management
  
• Ride,
  exercise, school and lunge horses as required.
  
• Develop
  horses through structured mounted and dismounted training programmes.
  
• Work with
  young and developing horses at different stages of their training.
  
• Undertake
  grooming, bathing, clipping, trimming and mane and tail pulling.
  
• Assist with
  stable management and maintaining high standards across stable areas.
  
• Prepare
  feeds/supplements and support their correct management and distribution.
  
• Present
  horses for veterinary and farriery inspections.
  
• Assist with
  treatments as instructed by veterinary or farriery professionals.
  
• Prepare
  horses and documentation for transportation between locations.
  
• Undertake
  travelling groom duties where required.
  
• Assist with
  tacking up horses for exercise and formal operations.
  
• Apply
  appropriate rugs and bandages.
  
• Provide
  regular updates on training progress and report any concerns.
  
• Maintain
  accurate digital records and update relevant management information systems.
  
• Liaise and
  coordinate effectively with other equestrian professionals.
  
• Participate
  in emergency drills and maintain familiarity with emergency procedures.
  
• Provide
  additional support during periods of absence, increased activity and major
  horse movements.
  
• Work
  essential overtime where requested and formally approved.
  

Working
Environment

The role is
based within a high-security
site, and successful candidates will be required to comply with
all relevant security procedures, site rules and operational protocols.

A background
check will be required as part of the recruitment process.

Working
Pattern

Core working hours are 07:00–15:30, Monday to
Friday.

Horse exercise should generally
be completed before 12:00, with ground-based work such as lunging and walking
in hand completed by 14:00, unless under veterinary advice.

Additional hours/weekends may be
required depending on operational requirements.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced
equestrian professional who can demonstrate:

• Strong
  practical experience working with horses.
  
• Confidence
  riding, exercising and schooling horses.
  
• Experience
  developing young or inexperienced horses.
  
• The ability
  to work confidently with horses both mounted and from the ground.
  
• High
  standards of horse welfare and stable management.
  
• Experience
  with grooming, clipping and general horse preparation.
  
• A calm,
  patient and professional approach to horse handling.
  
• Excellent
  attention to detail.
  
• Strong
  communication and teamwork skills.
  
• The ability
  to work within a structured and professional environment.
  
• Flexibility
  and willingness to support the wider team.
  
• Experience
  working with horses requiring rehabilitation or behavioural development would
  be advantageous.
  

Benefits

• Salary: £34,145.54
  
• Annual Leave: 25 days’ annual leave per annum, with additional time off provided where bank holiday duties are worked, in line with the rota and operational requirements.
