Position

Convenience Store is looking for a senior reporter to join its editorial team.
In this role you will be operating Convenience Store in the editor’s absence, therefore excellent leadership and project management skills and attention to detail are key. You will be working alongside the team analysing their work in addition to producing

content. Developing and building upon Convenience Store’s already existing social media channels will also be key in this role. This role would suit an ambitious reporter looking to take their next steps as it offers ample room for creativity and innovation

to deliver valuable information to our audience, and to make your mark on a leading B2B title.
Convenience Store is the leading B2B brand for the UK convenience sector. We have created a community of retailers that strive to improve the channel through advice and best practice while providing them with the latest news and analysis for the sector.

Our website reaches more than 48,000 unique users a month. Core readers include independent retailers, symbol groups, franchise operators, FMCG brands and multiple-managed stores. Convenience Store also runs The Convenience Awards, the most prestigious awards

event in the sector, as well as regular retailer roundtables.
What you'll be doing:
Working closely with the editorial team to produce a wide variety of content e.g., news stories, features, interviews, analyses, and multimedia pieces.
Identifying which format would work best for each piece of content.
Working alongside the editor, analysing their performance to ensure the audience’s needs are met and identify potential commercial opportunities.
Developing Convenience Store’s social media channels to ensure maximum engagement including the creation and deployment of daily newsletters.
Hosting panel sessions and on-stage interviews in face-to-face settings on an Ad hoc basis.
Helping run Convenience Store using excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
What you'll need:
The ideal candidate will:
Be an outstanding business journalist, well-versed in digital formats and comfortable covering a wide range of topics from political issues to product trends and financial results.
Be able to delivery sparkling copy and value-added content to deadline.
Be highly organised and able to juggle multiple projects at a time.
Have first class interviewing and interpersonal skills to help develop relationships with key figures in the convenience sector.
Have experience with multimedia, including recording and editing video and/or podcasts.
Ideally have some experience managing a news list.
Ideally have some experience organising online or face-to-face events, such as creating agendas and securing speakers to webinars.
Be willing to travel in the UK.
