Senior Residential Care Officer
Location: City of Doncaster Council
Contract: Permanent | Full-time & Part-time | Includes sleep-in duties
Salary: £27,259 - £29,955
Directorate: Children, Young People & Families (CYPF)
Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive in a safe, nurturing environment? We're looking for a Senior Residential Care Officer to help lead day-to-day care in our children's residential homes.

In this role, you will:

Provide high-quality emotional, social, and physical support to children and young people
Lead shifts and support care planning, key work, and link work
Take part in care reviews, meetings, and progress tracking
Support young people through challenging behaviours or emotional distress
Help with household tasks and contribute to the smooth running of the home
Ensure accurate and compliant record-keeping in line with Children’s Homes Regulations
Provide supervision and support to team members when required

What you’ll need:

Level 3 QCF in Children & Young People (or equivalent)
Residential childcare experience
Great communication skills, emotional intelligence, and cultural awareness
Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins and occasional crisis response
Supervisory experience is a plus

Additional Benefits:

£40.77 per sleep-in shift
Inclusive allowances of 8.5% for unsocial working hours
Rota includes 2 weekends off out of 4
South Yorkshire Pension authority contributions
Overtime over 37 hours paid at time and a quarter
