Job Description - Senior Residential Care Practitioners
Our client is a specialist children's residential care provider committed to delivering high-quality, therapeutic care for children and young people.
They are looking for an experienced Senior Residential Care Practitioner to support the day-to-day running of the home while providing outstanding care to children and young people. The successful candidate will lead by example, mentor staff, promote positive outcomes and ensure the home operates in line with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
Senior Residential Care Practitioner
Locations: Erith, Kent (DA8) or Abbey Wood, London (SE2) Salary: £34,320–£36,192 per annum (£13.75–£14.50 per hour, based on a 48-hour working week) Hours: Full-time and Part-time opportunities available
Key Responsibilities
* Support the management of the home and deputise for the Deputy Manager when required.
* Lead, mentor and support Residential Care Practitioners.
* Deliver high-quality, child-centred care and promote positive outcomes.
* Safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
* Support care planning, risk management and behaviour support strategies.
* Administer medication and maintain accurate records.
* Work closely with families and external professionals.
* Promote independence and life skills through daily activities.
Requirements
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards).
* Experience working within a children's residential care setting.
* Good knowledge of safeguarding, child development and trauma-informed practice.
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
* Full UK driving licence preferred.
* Flexibility to work a 24-hour rota, including weekends and sleep-ins.
