Are you a dedicated early years practitioner with a passion for providing outstanding care and education for young children? We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our leadership team in a key role within our nursery setting.
About the Role:
In this senior position, you will play a central role in supporting the development and wellbeing of children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), British Values, and key educational frameworks. You will be expected to lead by example, ensuring that best practice is embedded in all aspects of the nursery day, and that children are nurtured in a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver and support high-quality learning experiences that promote each child’s development
Foster strong relationships with children and their families
Lead on planning, observations, assessments, and progress tracking, including baselines and 2-year checks
Safeguard all children and report any concerns in line with policies and procedures
Provide inclusive care tailored to individual needs, including children with SEND
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in a nurturing atmosphere
Work collaboratively with the team to plan, deliver and evaluate a rich, varied curriculum
Ensure health, hygiene, and safety standards are met at all times
Help create a warm, welcoming, and culturally aware environment
Support and mentor junior staff, promoting professional growth and reflective practice
What We’re Looking For:
A minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety procedures
Experience in a leadership or senior practitioner role within an early years setting
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice
Ability to manage confidentiality, handle sensitive information, and use sound judgment
Willingness to participate in out-of-hours events such as staff meetings, training, and open days
