Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer

Land & Sea Resources are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to support operations at the Morecambe Hub in Barrow-in-Furness.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced rotating equipment engineering professional with a strong background in the oil and gas industry to provide high-quality technical support across rotating systems and equipment, helping to ensure safe, reliable and efficient asset performance.

The successful candidate will provide specialist rotating equipment engineering support across the Morecambe Hub, working closely with operations, maintenance and engineering teams. The role will involve supporting the reliability and performance of equipment including compressors, pumps, engines and associated rotating systems, as well as contributing to maintenance, asset integrity and reliability strategies.

You will be involved in troubleshooting equipment issues, carrying out root cause analysis and supporting the implementation of corrective actions. You will also provide technical input into preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, inspection and condition monitoring programmes, with a focus on maintaining asset integrity and extending equipment life.

The role will include providing technical input to capital projects and modifications, including equipment specifications, design reviews and commissioning activities. You will also review and approve rotating equipment work scopes, job packs and method statements, as well as providing technical oversight of contractors and vendors to ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with the required technical and contractual standards.

You will support turnaround, commissioning and start-up activities as required and participate in safety studies and risk assessments, including HAZOP, HAZID and LOPA. The position will also involve supporting management of change processes and assessing the technical and operational impact of proposed changes.

The successful candidate will be expected to prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including drawings, datasheets, calculations and operating and maintenance procedures, while ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, company requirements and applicable regulations.

Candidates should have proven experience within onshore and offshore oil and gas operations, maintenance and asset integrity, together with strong knowledge of rotating equipment used within oil and gas production facilities. A sound understanding of materials and corrosion mechanisms, maintenance strategies and reliability engineering is required, along with experience of offshore safety cases and permit-to-work systems.

Knowledge of relevant industry standards, including API, ASME, ISO and DNV where applicable, is also required.

Ideally, you will be educated to degree level, preferably with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering. Chartered Engineer status would be advantageous.
