Are you an experienced Sales Engineer with a proven track record of developing high-value customer relationships and driving business growth within a manufacturing or engineering environment?

We are recruiting for a Senior Sales Engineer to join a well-established and innovative engineering and manufacturing business specialising in precision injection moulding, new product development, and bespoke manufacturing solutions. Working with customers across the medical, automotive, industrial, and consumer sectors, you will play a pivotal role in securing new business opportunities, expanding key accounts, and supporting the delivery of complex technical projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded engineering professional who can combine technical expertise with strategic sales capability to influence customer decisions and contribute directly to business growth.

The Role
As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will take ownership of a portfolio of established accounts while proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities. Acting as a trusted technical advisor, you will engage with customers throughout the product development lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility through to production and long-term account management.
Working closely with engineering, project management, operations, and senior leadership teams, you will help shape commercial strategy, negotiate contracts, and ensure the successful delivery of customer projects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute account growth plans for existing customers
Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across target markets
Lead customer engagement activities, including presentations, technical discussions, and commercial negotiations
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, procurement teams, engineers, and decision-makers
Support customers through the product development and manufacturing process, providing technical and commercial guidance
Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and business cases
Work closely with internal engineering and production teams to ensure successful project delivery
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
Produce accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reporting
Represent the company at customer sites, industry events, and exhibitions as required
Skills & Experience

Proven experience in a Sales Engineer, Technical Sales, Business Development, or Key Account Management role within manufacturing or engineering
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally including injection moulding, plastics, tooling, or product development
Demonstrable success in developing customer relationships and generating new business revenue
Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and influencing skills
Ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience managing projects and coordinating cross-functional teams
Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools
Engineering qualification desirable, although significant industry experience will also be considered
Full UK Driving Licence
