Senior Sales Manager | Independent Publisher | London | Hybrid | Permanent
Are you a commercially driven Sales Manager with experience of selling print and ebooks into the North American market? If you are ready to bring your knowledge and expertise to an autonomous role, leading and developing USA library sales for an established and growing independent fiction publisher in London, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
Our partner: Our partner is a fast -growing independent publisher with a strong track record in commercial fiction across both print and digital formats. With a particular strength in genre publishing and a long -standing relationship with library markets, they combine a rich publishing heritage with a modern, data -led approach.
Responsibilities:
- Own and develop relationships with North American wholesalers, distributors, and key accounts, ensuring strong visibility and positioning of titles.
- Lead the expansion of the full catalogue into digital library platforms, driving ebook and audiobook lending growth.
- Provide commercial support to the hardback publishing programme to align editorial, pricing, and production with library demand.
- Take ownership of revenue and profitability across library channels, using data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Collaborate with digital, marketing, and rights teams to maximise reach and commercial performance.
Experience and skills that will deliver success in this role: The right candidate will bring a strong commercial mindset and proven experience of selling into the North American market or library sales. You will possess the communication and leadership skills required to successfully own a revenue stream and build lasting external partnerships.
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience of managing direct sales and third party sales and distribution agents in the USA, ideally with knowledge of the library market.
- An understanding of both print and digital library markets.
- Commercially focused, with experience managing or influencing revenue performance.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple titles and timelines.
- Skilled communicator, comfortable representing the business externally.
- Willingness to travel to the USA twice a year.
Desirable:
- Experience working with digital library platforms or ebook/audiobook distribution.
- Familiarity with metadata optimisation and discoverability in library systems.
- Experience collaborating across editorial, marketing, and rights functions.
