Holt Engineering is representing a leading European renewable energy company specialising in the development and construction of large-scale solar PV power plants and hybrid energy systems. The organisation delivers end-to-end energy infrastructure solutions across engineering, manufacturing, construction, and operations, with a strong track record in utility-scale solar projects throughout Europe and internationally.
Due to continued growth within the UK market, our client is seeking an experienced SCADA Senior Engineer to support the delivery and operation of large-scale Solar PV and Hybrid Energy projects.
Responsibilities
Develop, design, standardise and implement SCADA and Monitoring Systems for utility-scale Solar PV power plants Produce cost estimates and support procurement activities for SCADA systems, Power Plant Controllers and associated IT infrastructure Specify monitoring systems, meteorological stations, weather sensors, PLCs, fibre optic ring network architectures, HMIs and associated communication equipment in collaboration with project stakeholders Conduct on-site inspections and ensure the correct operation of hardware and software systems Work closely with SCADA suppliers to validate the functionality of site SCADA systems, PV Plant Controllers and HMIs Coordinate with site engineers during installation and commissioning phases, producing commissioning documentation, as-built drawings, operator manuals and training materials Support operational monitoring teams by analysing plant performance and output data during commercial operations Assist with root cause analysis and technical investigations, including warranty-related claims Provide technical support during maintenance and troubleshooting activities where requiredRequirements
Strong knowledge of SCADA and communication system design, including SCADA architectures, IT networks and associated components such as servers, PLCs, routers, modems and data loggers Hands-on experience in the implementation and commissioning of SCADA and communication systems Previous experience within the Solar PV or renewable energy sector Knowledge of standards such as IEC 61724 and ISO27001 would be advantageous Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and E-Plan software Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Good negotiation and coordination abilities Excellent English language skills, both written and verbalWhat’s on Offer
