A highly regarded independent school in South Essex is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to join its thriving Learning Support Department.
This is an excellent opportunity to support bright, motivated students across Key Stages 3 to 5 within a well-resourced and supportive school environment. Working as part of an experienced Learning Support team, you will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full academic potential.
The Role
You will work closely with the SENDCo, subject teachers and pastoral staff to provide tailored support for students with additional learning needs.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing in-class support to students across a range of subjects.
* Delivering targeted interventions to individuals and small groups.
* Supporting students with specific learning difficulties and additional educational needs.
* Assisting with the planning and delivery of personalised learning programmes.
* Promoting student confidence, independence and engagement.
* Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records.
* Working collaboratively with teachers, parents and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
* Contributing positively to the wider life of the school.
About You
The successful candidate will:
* Hold an HLTA qualification or be working towards achieving it.
* Have previous experience supporting young people with SEND, particularly specific learning difficulties.
* Possess excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
* Demonstrate patience, empathy and professionalism.
* Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
* Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Share a commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and pastoral care.
