This is a well-established family-run garage with a strong reputation for looking after its staff - I’ve personally placed candidates into the workshop here and know first-hand that people are treated properly. Now they’re looking for an experienced Senior Service Advisor / Assistant Workshop Manager to join the team and provide some much-needed support when the Workshop Manager isn’t around.

It’s a properly varied role rather than a Service Advisor position where you’re stuck behind a reception desk. You’ll be involved across the workshop, parts and reception, helping keep the operation running smoothly on busy days and stepping up when needed.

Responsibilities

* Acting as Workshop Controller, coordinating jobs and keeping the workshop moving

* Dealing with customers and covering service reception

* Ordering and managing parts

* Supporting the workshop team with day-to-day organisation

* Providing cover and additional support when the Workshop Manager isn't on site

* Helping manage the workload during particularly busy periods

* Getting involved wherever you're needed to keep the garage running efficiently

There are three people within the team, so this is a hands-on position where you'll become an important part of the day-to-day operation.

Requirements

This role would suit someone who has come from an independent garage environment and is comfortable wearing several hats.

You'll need:

* Strong Service Advisor experience

* Experience within an independent garage

* A good understanding of workshop operations and parts

* Confidence coordinating workshop workloads

* The ability to deal with customers professionally

* A hands-on, adaptable approach

* The confidence to take responsibility when the Workshop Manager isn't there

If you're already a Senior Service Advisor or Workshop Controller, or you're an experienced Service Advisor ready to step up, this is a great opportunity to take on more responsibility without losing the variety that makes independent garages appealing.

Salary and Benefits

* £40,000+ basic salary

* £4,000–£8,000 annual bonus scheme

* Monday–Friday: 8am–6pm, 1-in-2 Saturdays: 8am–1pm
