Senior Shift Manager

We're recruiting for an experienced Senior Production Manager to join a busy, high-volume food manufacturing operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take ownership of the performance of your shift, leading people, improving efficiency and making sure production targets are consistently achieved.

What you'll be doing:

Lead and manage the production team and overall shift performance.
Drive productivity, efficiency, quality and safety across the shift.
Analyse production data and identify areas for improvement.
Reduce waste, downtime and unnecessary costs.
Work closely with Engineering and Technical teams to improve machine performance and reliability.
Plan labour requirements and manage agency labour effectively.
Monitor production KPIs including waste, downtime, labour efficiency and yield.
Investigate production, quality and safety issues and put corrective actions in place.
Develop and manage Section Managers and wider production teams.
Carry out 1-to-1s, performance reviews and development plans.
Support new starter training and build future talent within the team.
Promote a strong culture of continuous improvement, food safety and high performance.

What we're looking for:

Proven experience in a Production Manager / Senior Production Manager role.
Strong background within FMCG, food manufacturing or another high-volume manufacturing environment.
Experience managing production teams and shift performance.
Comfortable working with production data and KPIs.
Strong understanding of productivity, waste, downtime and labour efficiency.
Confident people leader who can develop and challenge teams.
Practical approach to continuous improvement.
Good understanding of GMP, quality and health & safety.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with Engineering, Technical and Operations teams.

The package:

£50,000 - £56,000 basic salary
Up to 7.5% discretionary bonus
5% employer pension contribution
Life assurance - 2x basic salary
