Senior Social Worker - Fostering

£47,532 - £53,607 + £3,000 R&R | Hybrid Working | Barkingside, East London

Redbridge Council is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join our fostering service, taking a lead role in the support and supervision of approved foster carers. This role is ideal for a skilled practitioner who is confident in managing complex cases and contributing to service improvement.

You will support foster carers looking after children with complex needs, offer guidance and oversight on high-risk cases, and co-facilitate training and support groups. This is a key role in maintaining placement stability and ensuring carers receive the supervision they need to thrive.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of experienced and newly approved foster carers

• Lead supervision, annual reviews and safeguarding oversight

• Support placement stability for children with complex needs

• Deliver carer training and contribute to development sessions

• Represent the team in panels and professional forums

Requirements:

• Social Work England registration

• Minimum 3 years' post-qualifying experience

• In-depth fostering or children's social care experience

• Confident decision-making and strong leadership qualities

• Skilled in delivering high-quality written assessments and analysis
