Salary: £55,000 per annum basic + competitive package

Senior Solicitor – The Role:

In this role, you will provide expert legal advice on niche and evolving areas of law, directly influencing how new and existing legislation is interpreted and implemented across a public-facing organisation. You will play a key role in advising on legislative developments, supporting the organisation's contributions to policy-making, and ensuring robust legal understanding across operations.

Senior Solicitor – Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver specialist legal counsel on complex statutory and regulatory matters, including advice on new legislation and its practical application

- Develop and maintain deep expertise in a defined area of public or environmental law, becoming the principal legal authority within the organisation on this topic

- Analyse and interpret intricate legal texts, such as retained EU law, case law, and scientific documentation, to provide comprehensive legal insights

- Communicate detailed legal advice clearly and effectively to both internal teams and external partners, supporting strategic and operational objectives

- Collaborate on the creation and delivery of training and guidance materials on new legal frameworks

- Assist in preparing for and defending against legal challenges to regulatory decisions, including supporting appeals and judicial reviews

- Represent the organisation in appeal processes, drafting legal arguments and engaging with solicitors, tribunals, and other bodies

- Supervise and mentor junior legal colleagues, fostering excellence in legal service delivery and promoting continuous improvement
