An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join the brigade at one of Lancashire's most exciting and ambitious fine dining restaurants.

Led by one of the UK's most respected and influential chefs, this is a serious food-led operation built around exceptional seasonal produce, refined cooking and constantly evolving menus.

This is a genuine second-in-command position, working directly alongside the Head Chef and Chef Patron and playing a pivotal role in the day-to-day leadership of the kitchen.

For an accomplished Sous Chef looking to step into greater responsibility — or an established Senior Sous looking for a new challenge — this offers the opportunity to become an integral part of an ambitious restaurant with exceptionally strong culinary credentials.

The Role

As Senior Sous Chef, you'll support the Head Chef across every aspect of the kitchen operation while taking a leading role throughout preparation and service.

You'll be trusted to maintain standards, develop the brigade and ensure the kitchen continues to deliver exceptional food consistently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as second in command of the kitchen


• Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day management of the brigade


• Leading services and ensuring consistently excellent execution


• Preparing and presenting refined dishes to high fine-dining standards


• Contributing towards the creation of seasonal and tasting menus


• Working with premium seasonal ingredients


• Training, mentoring and developing junior chefs


• Maintaining consistency across flavour, presentation and execution


• Managing stock levels, ordering and supplier relationships


• Supporting food costs and wider kitchen controls


• Maintaining exceptional organisation, hygiene and food-safety standards


• Deputising for the Head Chef in their absence

About You

This isn't a role where we're simply looking for someone who has reached Senior Sous level by title.

We're looking for a chef with a genuine quality background who understands the precision, organisation and consistency required within an ambitious fine-dining kitchen.

You'll ideally have:

• Current Senior Sous Chef experience or strong Sous Chef experience ready for progression


• A proven background within fine dining, luxury hospitality or Michelin-standard kitchens


• Strong knowledge of both classical and modern cooking techniques


• A genuine passion for exceptional seasonal produce


• Excellent attention to detail and presentation


• The confidence to lead a brigade through service


• Strong communication and people-development skills


• Experience mentoring and developing junior chefs


• A calm and organised approach under pressure


• Excellent understanding of HACCP and food-safety standards


• High personal and professional standards

The Package

• Circa £42,000 per annum including tronc


• Full-time, permanent position
