A growing multi‑disciplinary consultancy in Leeds is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer who can genuinely take the reins, leading projects, shaping delivery, and being a trusted face for clients.
YOUR NEW ROLE
You’ll own structural projects from first concept through to construction, working across a mix of building and infrastructure schemes. The role suits someone who’s confident running programmes, managing stakeholders, and setting the technical standard for the team.
Day‑to‑day
*
Lead structural design and delivery, driving technical quality, programme and commercial outcomes
*
Act as the key contact for clients, contractors and wider project partners
*
Carry out and review structural analysis and design in steel, concrete, timber and masonry
*
Produce and check reports, specifications, calculations and drawings
*
Undertake site inspections and support construction‑stage queries
*
Coordinate multi‑disciplinary inputs and manage project teams
*
Mentor and develop junior engineers, reviewing work and supporting progression
*
Allocate workloads and help manage team resources
*
Contribute to fee proposals, client development and repeat business
What You’ll Bring
*
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
*
Chartered (MIStructE or MICE) preferred; near‑Chartered also considered
*
Full UK driving licence
*
Strong experience within a UK structural consultancy
*
Solid technical capability across all main materials, with proven delivery from concept to site
*
Working knowledge of Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds or similar
*
Experience managing multiple projects, budgets and client expectations
*
Confident leading and mentoring engineers and reviewing others’ designs
*
Commercial awareness and the ability to make clear, independent technical decisions
*
Strong communicator who stays calm under pressure and works well in multi‑disciplinary teams
