Job Description - Senior Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Supervisor to join a busy food production operation in Gravesend.

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day production, ensuring that teams, machinery and processes operate safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience within food production, fresh produce, fresh-cut fruit, packaging or a similar fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Supervise and coordinate production teams throughout the shift, ensuring staff are organised, productive and working to company procedures and production targets.

* Oversee production activities, machinery, product quality and output, ensuring schedules, specifications and customer requirements are met.

* Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, HACCP, GMP and health & safety, ensuring all procedures are followed consistently.

* Monitor staffing, performance, attendance, production issues and downtime, taking appropriate action and escalating issues to management when required.

* Support Team Leaders and Machine Operators, provide guidance and training, and promote a positive working environment focused on safety, quality, efficiency and teamwork.

* Work closely with Production, Engineering and Management teams to resolve operational issues, minimise waste and downtime, and continuously improve production performance.

Candidate Requirements

* Previous supervisory or senior team-leading experience within food production, manufacturing, fresh produce, packaging or a similar environment.

* Good understanding of production processes, machinery, food safety, HACCP, GMP and health & safety requirements.

* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams, delegate effectively and maintain high standards.

* Ability to work under pressure, make decisions, resolve problems and meet production targets and deadlines.

* Reliable, organised, proactive and hands-on, with a strong focus on quality, productivity and continuous improvement.

* Food Hygiene/Food Safety certification is desirable.
