Job Description
We are expanding our team and seeking a versatile Senior Satellite Communications Systems Engineer to provide technical and commercial expertise to our customers. The role involves establishing requirements, design, capacity, performance, resource planning, verification, and operation of satellite communications networks for civil and military customers.
Key Responsibilities
Model, establish, and validate requirements for satellite networks based on end-user needs.
Design and develop end-to-end communications, incorporating RF systems, IP networks, and OSS/BSS technology.
Analyze requirements and assess supplier solutions to meet communications systems requirements.
Develop test strategies, VV&T plans, and execute tests in ground or in-orbit environments.
Engineer ground segments and terminals, and design and test communications payloads.
Prepare concept of operations and service delivery documentation.

Integral team player with strong customer-facing and communication skills.
Ability to produce and present clear, concise, and unambiguous presentations.
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to develop innovative solutions.
Essential Requirements
5-10 years of relevant experience.
Graduate with a good Honours or Masters degree in Space System Engineering, Electronics, Communications, or equivalent qualifications/experience.
Experience in satcoms systems engineering, system design, ground segment design, satellite operations, and payload engineering.
Knowledge of IP networking, protocols, and data security.
Thorough understanding of communications systems and engineering concepts.
Strong practical knowledge of systems engineering practices from requirements engineering through design/development and VV&T.
Experience in developing requirements systems design documentation, test plans and procedures, and operational procedures.
Knowledge of software development environments, languages, and methodologies.
Proven track record of problem-solving.
Desirable Qualifications
Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
Practical experience in commissioning and testing satellite systems.
Familiarity with OSS/BSS technology and its use in communications networks management and reporting.
Experience in the assessment/development of security architectures in communications systems and/or military communications networks.
Experience with software development environments, languages (Python, Java), and methodologies (Agile, DevOps).
Knowledge of optical, 5G, and/or Quantum technologies.
