Senior Systems Test Engineer

Job DescriptionJob Overview:The Senior Systems Test Engineer will be developing system measurement techniques, automation and facilities to ensure compliance to system requirements of electronically steered arrays, for land and aero applications.Technical Responsibilities: Assist in the characterisation, performance verification and optimisation of phased array antenna systems. Take responsibility for the development and testing of sub-systems or features.Define, develop, automate and commission, system test facilities for efficient measurement of antenna arrays, supporting the lead systems test engineer.Develop measurement techniques, automate measurement processes, analyse test results, ensuring that system test procedures and all results are recorded, controlled and presented in a coherent manner. Take responsibility for aspects of system and module level verification work ensuring compliance to the system and module requirements specifications for both functional and non-functional testing Support the wider technical deliverables required for product development, such as lifecycle management, methods development, peer reviews, procurement support and lab testing.Organisational Responsibilities:Guide, support and mentor members of the Systems Test team, developing their skills, experience, capabilities and understanding of company processes. In particular, share excellent test automation (PYTHON) skills.Report to the Lead Systems Test Engineer – providing technical updates and process improvement proposals.Work together with the Lead Systems Test Engineer to help organise the tasking of the system test team.Support customer engineering liaison, for example customer demonstrations; test result sharing.Ensure that documentation, specifications and reports are created to an excellent standard to support quality assurance.Ensure compliance with the company product development framework.Qualifications & Skills:Essential:Good engineering degree3+ years in systems, RF and/or antenna product test and developmentTest and measurement software development using MATLAB and/or PythonDemonstrated expertise in test automationDesirable:Postgraduate engineering degree or undergraduate engineering Master’s Experience in developing antenna array systemsExperience in product qualification for EMC/EMI, environmental, safety etc.
