£90,000-£95,000 + car + benefits package (+working away allowance if applicable)
Location: Shrewsbury

We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Technical Manager, preferable with a background in Healthcare environments, to join a leading technical team delivering complex engineering solutions across major projects. This senior-level position is based in Shrewsbury, supporting critical pre-construction phases and driving technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role:
As a key figure within the technical management team, you will lead the setup and coordination of design and engineering for projects valued between £5-50M (MEP). Your primary focus will be de-risking projects early, ensuring design clarity, and maintaining compliance with safety and engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical strategy and design delivery during pre-construction.

• Collaborate with bid, commercial, and operational teams, as well as external stakeholders.

• Identify and manage technical risks to ensure project efficiency and compliance.

• Ensure coordination with consultants, supply chain, and manufacturers.

• Uphold responsibilities under CDM and the Building Safety Act.

• Provide leadership and mentorship to technical staff.

You Will Bring:

• BEng or MEng/MSc in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.

• Chartered or Incorporated status (or working towards it) with a recognised institution (CIBSE, IET, IMechE).

• Broad experience in building services, ideally across healthcare, leisure, commercial, and MOD/MOJ sectors.

• Proven ability to manage projects with significant MEP value.

• Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
