Job Description - Senior Temporary Accomodation Officer

Role: Senior Temporary Accommodation Officer

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, flexible working between 8am-6pm on a rota basis

Worker Type: Hybrid Worker

Salary: Grade H - Starting Salary is £38,223 (Level one) rising to £41,418 (Level four)

About the Role

Responsible for leading, developing and supervising a team of Temporary Accommodation Officers TAOs), whose responsibility is to provide housing related support to homeless families; to sustain future tenancies; help residents to find permanent move-on accommodation and minimise repeat homelessness. The post holder may also hold a small caseload and be responsible for maximising rental collection from all temporary accommodation properties. To assist the Manager in the day-to-day management and supervision of Highwood House, dispersed properties and other nightly paid temporary accommodation.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of supervising a front-line team dealing with complex and challenging customers and being able to motivate and develop employees to achieve challenging targets
  • Knowledge and experience of resettling and supporting homeless families and the related issues including a working knowledge of welfare benefits
  • An ability to represent the service by developing and maintaining effective liaison and relationships with internal and external representatives and other bodies
  • Ability to manage working relationships and communicate complex or sensitive issues to a wide range of people to ensure the efficient and effective running of the service area
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively organise and prioritise workload to ensure that tasks are completed in an efficient and timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver under pressure.
