Senior Test Design Engineer

We boast extensive fuel and air system test facilities, facilitating comprehensive testing across a range of conditions with various fuel types\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe Eaton Aerospace team have an opportunity for a Test Equipment/Facility Design Engineer supporting the design, development and qualification of aircraft fuel and inerting system solutions. The role is based at our Eaton Ltd site in Titchfield Hampshire. This role will be the team focal point for the design and manufacture of new test fixtures and test equipment as well as supporting the Engineering Services Manager in maintaining the regulatory compliance of the extensive test facility\u0027s. \n\n * Lead the requirements capture, design development and implementation of test rigs, test stands and fixtures.\n * Manage the test equipment requests, scoping the required work and resource requirements\n * Ability to define test equipment design requirements from functional need\n * Ability to complete test rig and test fixture design (Knowledge of Creo preferred, training available)\n * Support Engineering Services Manager in maintaining test facility regulatory compliance\n * Coordination and leadership of subcontracted test rig and fixture design, support to factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing and rig handover\n * Preparation and review of technical documentation (engineering proposals, performance specifications, technical reports and papers) in accordance with company procedures.\n * Project management of allocated design tasks, defining time and implementation plan\n * Excellent communication skills are required to create and maintain working relationships across the multi-disciplinary teams\n * Works individually or as a part of a team and with other engineering or cross-functional disciplines to deliver as per customer needs and expectations. \n * Demonstrates Eaton\u2019s core values and Vision. \n\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\n * Apprenticeship in an Engineering Discipline or HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant subject \n5 years working in an relevant role \n \n\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\n * Knowledge of aircraft fuel system components preferred\n * Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles including design of structural components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.\n * Experience of writing technical reports / requirement specifications\n * Experience of test rig and fixture design\n * Understanding of test rig controls and instrumentation - LabVIEW awareness preferred\n * Working understanding of ATEX regulations and associated equipment\n * Knowledge of risk assessment and risk register documentation\n * Communication, Responsibility, Teamwork, Problem Solving, Creativity, Innovation, Leadership, Technical Learning, Strong Organisational and Planning Skills\n\n\n\n## What we offer: \n\n * Competitive compensation and benefits package\n * Challenging projects in dynamic collaborative team\n * Great company benefits \n * We make your aspirations matter \u2013 Eaton encourages internal promotion, whenever possible\n * We make your growth matter - We invest in our employees for the long term \u2013 not just with salary and benefits, but with ongoing learning and development opportunities made available through Eaton University\n * We make your contributions matter - reliability, safety, efficiency, and sustainability are at the core of our dedication to improving people\u2019s lives and the environment through power management technologies\n * We make your wellbeing matter \u2013 We put your health and safety first.
