Senior Tester (Contract)

The successful
applicant will take responsibility for testing our front end and back end high
performance global web solutions. The successful candidate will have a
background in all aspects of application testing, from manual unit testing
through to designing and implementing automated test solutions, load and
performance testing solutions and managing beta test. Understanding of
virtualisation tools and environment management is important as this is a
highly technical role requiring excellent test automation skills
in a team-oriented Agile environment. It requires an understanding of the
application development process, execution environments, performance
measurement, security vulnerabilities, tool selection and utilisation, and
network infrastructure awareness.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Review product
  functional and non-functional requirements and create test cases. Specify
  and execute manual and automated test cases. 


• Develop,
  implement and execute the test strategies and test plans.  


• Build and
  execute load and performance testing strategies.


• Testing of
  user interfaces, business logic, web services, database storage, batch
  processes, performance and security 


• Analysis,
  creation, and execution of test cases within Waterfall and Agile (SCRUM)
  projects


• Issue tracking
  management and resolution

Skills

·       
Computer
Sciences Degree or equivalent.

·       
Excellent
documentation skills and attention to detail.

·       
Experience
of working as part of an Agile team (e.g. Scrum, XP) and Test Driven
Development. 

·       
Full
Performance Testing Lifecycle exposure and understanding. 

·       
Knowledge
of market leading performance tools, monitoring and diagnostics. 

·       
Solid
understanding of test automation principles
and test frameworks.

·       
3+
years post qualification experience. 

·       
Strong
experience of Version
control and defect tracking systems.

·       
Understanding
Java / J2EE (desirable).

·        
Practical
experience in RDBMS systems (like Mysql, Postgres etc) (desirable).
