A respected and fast-growing independent property consultancy is seeking an ambitious Senior Town Planner to take a leading role within their dynamic, multidisciplinary team. This firm offers a truly personalised service to private clients, family businesses, and companies across the rural and development sectors-without the constraints of corporate red tape.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced planner who thrives on responsibility, is commercially minded, and is looking to influence the growth of a thriving planning function within a flexible and supportive environment.

The Role:

As Senior Town Planner, you will lead and deliver complex planning projects, guide junior team members, and play a key role in developing client relationships and generating new business. You'll work alongside a collaborative team of chartered surveyors and agri-business consultants, tackling a diverse range of rural, residential, and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all aspects of strategic and site-specific planning projects

  • Deliver planning advice across land promotion, local plan submissions, and development strategy

  • Prepare and submit planning applications and pre-application submissions

  • Manage consultant teams and oversee project execution

  • Advise on change of use, diversification, and rural development opportunities

  • Prepare and manage planning appeals, including written reps and hearings

  • Support business development and client acquisition efforts

Candidate Profile:

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in town planning

  • Strong working knowledge of planning policy, applications, and appeals

  • Excellent project management and communication skills

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines

  • Commercially aware with a client-first approach

  • RTPI accreditation (desirable but not essential with equivalent experience)

Package & Benefits:
  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • 33 days annual leave (inclusive of public and bank holidays)

  • Paid day off for your birthday

  • Private healthcare

  • Flexible and hybrid working options

  • Professional development and career advancement opportunities

  • Supportive, entrepreneurial working culture
