The Opportunity

FutureGen Recruitment is representing an ambitious and growing planning consultancy based in the South West that delivers high -profile and technically challenging projects across residential, mixed -use, regeneration, infrastructure, and strategic development.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Town Planner with a strong planning background and the confidence to lead on significant projects, support business growth, and work collaboratively across multi -disciplinary teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this varied and senior role you’ll be expected to:

• Lead on key planning applications from inception to delivery
  

• Prepare high -quality planning statements, design and access statements, and supporting planning documentation
  

• Manage client relationships and develop new business opportunities
  

• Coordinate with internal teams (design, urbanism, environmental and transport specialists) and external stakeholders
  

• Provide sound technical planning advice across a mix of strategic and development management work
  

• Represent projects at pre -application meetings, committee hearings and public consultations
  

• Mentor and support more junior planners and contribute to team growth
  

What You’ll Bring

• A recognised planning qualification (relevant degree or equivalent)
  

• Chartered (or near Chartered) membership of the RTPI
  

• 2+ years’ relevant planning experience, ideally including major or mixed -use development and strategic work
  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  

• Strong project and client management capability
  

• Commercial awareness and a proactive mindset
  

• Ability to balance technical detail with commercial outcomes
