Description

We're hiring a Senior Transactional Manager to lead one of the most critical finance functions in a large and successful business based in Liverpool.

This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, with full accountability for overseeing all supplier payments and financial transactions across the business - covering their core operations and wider Group companies.

You'll lead a team of 18 across accounts payable, receivable, and other key finance processing areas - ensuring accuracy, control and efficiency at scale. This role is both operationally important and strategically influential, with the opportunity to shape how transactional finance runs today and into the future.

• Own the full accounts processing function - including AP, AR, GNFR, imports and intercompany transactions, across multiple group entities
• Lead supplier payment operations - delivering efficient and compliant processing for domestic and international suppliers
• Drive reporting and insight - providing timely performance updates and recommendations to Buyers, Treasury and the Group FD
• Champion process improvement - streamline, consolidate and optimise workflows to reduce manual effort and drive efficiency
• Lead ERP transformation - play a key role in the rollout of a new finance system, influencing accounting policies and operational design
• Develop a high-performing team - lead, coach and structure a team of 18, ensuring resource alignment and strong performance
• Ensure governance and compliance - uphold rigorous controls and maintain readiness for audit and regulatory scrutiny

Profile

You'll be a Senior Transactional Manager with senior leadership experience in high-volume transactional finance, ideally within a complex, fast-paced environment. You'll bring a track record of driving operational excellence across AP, AR and shared services, and be confident leading large teams through change and transformation.
