Job Description - Senior Utility Surveyor

Weâre supporting a leading surveying and geospatial consultancy with a strong pipeline of infrastructure projects across the North West. With a focus on rail and utilities, theyâre looking to recruit a Senior Utility Surveyor to take ownership of major surveys and support the development of junior staff. Rail experience is welcome but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead complex PAS 128 utility mapping surveys using EML, GPR, and GNSS tools

Manage survey teams on-site and coordinate workloads across multiple projects

Ensure technical accuracy, data integrity, and health & safety compliance

Liaise with clients, engineers, and internal departments to deliver clear project outcomes

Provide training, mentoring, and technical support to junior surveyors and trainees

Contribute to QA processes and assist in integrating utility data into CAD/BIM systems

Review and approve survey deliverables and technical documentation

Requirements

Requirements:

â Minimum 5 yearsâ experience delivering utility surveys (rail, civils, or utilities sectors)

â Proficient with PAS 128 standards, GPR, EML, and GNSS survey equipment

â Strong understanding of industry best practices and health & safety procedures

â Leadership experience â confident leading teams and interfacing with clients

â Competent in data processing and CAD software (e.g. N4CE, AutoCAD, Trimble)

â Full UK driving licence
