Job Description - SEO Specialist

Are you looking to develop your SEO career in an award-winning marketing team? Would you like to be an integral part of a digital team lead by search engine optimisation?

We have an exciting opportunity to join our SEO-first digital marketing team as SEO Specialist. Hillarys are part of Hunter Douglas, so as SEO specialist, you’ll be delivering SEO for our HD UK brands, predominately Hillarys. As an SEO first business, you’ll be the driving force ensuring SEO is prioritised across our digital platforms, utilising tools to identify areas of improvement to keep pushing our brands forward and consistently achieve the high-ranking positions.

You’ll be great at balancing working autonomously and collaboratively with the wider marketing team, as you’ll share insights from our SEO tools such as Search Console and Google Analytics that create actionable results. An understanding of Google Search Engine guidelines and technical SEO is key for this role, as you’ll be reviewing site content regularly; working closely with the web team to prioritise changes. Off-site SEO experience is a key part of this role, as you’ll work alongside our Online PR team for outreach and coverage across other websites.

As our SEO Specialist, here’s what you will be doing:

  • Strategy & Projects: Develop and lead SEO strategies and projects to drive organic growth
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the development team and external agencies to implement necessary SEO changes.
  • Migrations: Oversee and ensure smooth website migrations.
  • Be always best in class: Optimize the website’s meta information, alt image descriptions, H1 tags, Schema, and other on-page elements to ensure it is best in class.
  • Content Quality: Monitor website content to ensure it is user-focused and not keyword-stuffed
  • Algorithm Understanding: Keep up-to-date with key search algorithms, including Google core updates.
  • Content Strategy: Collaborate with the content team to develop and brief content ideas and strategies.
  • Reporting: Report on SEO performance weekly and present findings to wider groups
  • Digital PR: Work closely with the digital PR team and agency to build high-quality links and understand digital PR strategies.

Interested? Here’s what you need:

  • Minimum 3 Years in SEO: Proven track record in SEO with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Technical SEO Skills: Strong understanding of technical SEO and experience in briefing technical requirements to developers.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong with numbers, capable of spotting trends and making data-driven decisions.
  • Team Player: Excellent team collaboration skills, with the ability to work well with others and drive results.
  • Tools Proficiency: Highly experienced with tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs/SEMrush, Search Console, and GA4.

This is a hybrid role with brilliant development opportunities, perfect for a passionate and experienced SEO marketer who wants to use their knowledge and expertise to shape the future SEO strategy and your future career in SEO. You'll have drive and assertion to achieve results, whilst being approachable with great communication skills to work with the wider team, business stakeholders and external agencies.

Why should you consider this role? Here are just a few reasons:

  1. Make an impact: Take on a key role in our dynamic and results-orientated SEO team, and have a lasting impact on our stakeholders by establishing effective working relationships.
  2. Think for the future: Contribute to driving our brands forward with new ideas and initiatives.
  3. Career progression: Grow your career in SEO, by joining a market-leading organisation, renowned for its commitment to innovation and excellence. We excel in nurturing the career development of those who join us and are passionate about what they do.

You’ll receive many benefits, such as generous staff discount (including family and friends!), healthcare and lifestyle benefits packages, and a fantastic working environment.

We understand that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach, and with this in mind, we are dedicated to providing an inclusive workplace where every colleague feels valued and comfortable to be their true self. If you require any reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process, please do let us know and we will be happy to accommodate.
