Job Description - Service Advisor

Service Advisor
  • Location: Yeovil

Join our Service Department as a Service Advisor, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our customer service experience. This position reports directly to the Aftersales Manager and involves close collaboration with various team members including Workshop Controllers, Technicians, and Sales Managers. As a Service Advisor, you will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of service and integrity in all interactions with customers and colleagues.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Handle all service-related inquiries, both over the phone and from walk-ins, with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Clearly explain the details of vehicle work to customers and obtain their authorization for services.
  • Ensure customer needs are thoroughly understood and communicated effectively to the relevant departments.
  • Assign jobs efficiently to the Workshop Controller to optimise workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle details and service histories.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager and Head of Business to optimise workshop capacity and resources.
  • Utilise company and manufacturer systems (DMS, RTC, VMS) effectively.
  • Act as the first point of contact for service complaints, addressing and escalating them as appropriate.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a service advisory or customer service role within the automotive industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively handle customer inquiries and interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and make ethical decisions in challenging situations.
  • Proficiency in using automotive industry systems such as DMS, RTC, and VMS.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity and quality in work.
