The Role

As a Service & Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing a range of specialist equipment both at customer sites and within the company's workshop. The role combines customer-facing field service activities with internal maintenance responsibilities, making it ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys variety.

Key duties will include:

Service, calibration, fault finding and repair of specialist electrical and mechanical equipment
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repairs
Building, testing and commissioning equipment
Installation and support of equipment at customer sites
Producing and reviewing service and calibration documentation
Liaising with customers regarding repairs, service requirements and technical support
Supporting facility and site maintenance activities
Working closely with colleagues to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Regular travel throughout the UK with occasional travel across Europe

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this position, you should have:

A recognised electrical engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, Apprenticeship or equivalent
Experience in servicing, fault finding, maintenance and repair of electrical and electro-mechanical equipment
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail
Good communication skills and a professional customer-facing manner
Strong organisational and time management abilities
IT literacy with experience using Windows-based systems
A full UK driving licence
A valid passport and willingness to travel when requiredThe following would be advantageous:

Experience carrying out calibration work
Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance programmes
Facilities or building maintenance experience
Experience working within laboratory, scientific, pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing or regulated environments
