Service Charge Accountant - £50,000 - North London

Cobalt is working with a growing property management company based in North London, seeking an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a solid background in service charge accounting to contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage service charge accounts for a portfolio of properties
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of year-end service charge reconciliations
• Liaise with tenants, landlords, and clients regarding service charge queries
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and legislation
• Support audits and provide necessary documentation
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes for service charge budgets
• Work closely with the property management teams to ensure accurate cost allocations
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience in service charge accounting, ideally within property management
• Strong understanding of service charge legislation and accounting practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, Qube, etc.) and Microsoft Excel
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage a portfolio of properties efficiently
• Professional, positive attitude with a client-focused approach
