Are you an experienced service charge accounting professional looking to take the next step in your career? We’re supporting a growing service charge accounting team who are seeking a Service Charge Team Senior to join their specialist function. This role offers a mix of technical service charge work, client interaction and mentoring junior colleagues.
The Role
As a Service Charge Team Senior, you’ll manage a portfolio of residential and commercial property clients, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of service charge accounts. You’ll act as a key point of contact for property managers, managing agents, directors, and leaseholders, while also supporting junior team members and contributing to the overall efficiency of the team.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review annual service charge accounts, including multi‑schedule and complex cases.
*
Reconcile handover funds and ensure correct treatment of reserves, sinking funds, accruals, and prepayments.
*
Manage your own client portfolio and maintain strong professional relationships.
*
Provide guidance and review work produced by junior colleagues.
*
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, internal procedures, and industry best practice.
*
Support workflow planning, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
*
Proven experience in service charge accounting (practice, property management, or specialist service charge environment).
*
Confident preparing and reviewing service charge accounts.
*
Strong communication skills and ability to manage client relationships.
*
High attention to detail with strong analytical ability.
*
Comfortable reviewing junior colleagues’ work.
*
Proficient in Excel and accounting software.
Desirable:
*
AAT qualified, ACCA/ACA part‑qualified, or qualified by experience.
*
Knowledge of RICS/TPI guidance and relevant property legislation.
*
Experience using specialist service charge accounting systems.
