Service Controller – Mechanical Handling & Construction Equipment

Based at Head Office – Maidstone
Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Salary £40K + Company Pension + Bonus Scheme

About the Role
Holt Recruitment is working with an independent mechanical handling business that specialises in mechanical handling and construction equipment.
They are seeking an experienced Service Controller to join their Maidstone-based Head Office on a full-time basis. This is an office-based role involving the day-to-day coordination and support of a team of Service Engineers. You will be responsible for maintaining smooth operations within the service department and delivering a high standard of customer care.
All training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of a field-based engineering team
• Coordinate servicing and breakdown response efficiently
• Handle incoming service enquiries and customer queries
• Prepare weekly and monthly service performance reports
• Generate estimates and follow-up on post-service work
• Address invoice and service-related queries promptly
• Conduct customer site visits and build long-term relationships
• Monitor department revenue, cost, and KPI performance
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across service delivery

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in forklift, mechanical handling, or construction equipment is desirable
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Background as an engineer or in team supervision/management is an advantage
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service data systems
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, reactive environment
