We are looking to recruit an experienced Service Controller to join a busy and established service operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual who can effectively coordinate engineers, manage service schedules, and maintain excellent customer communication within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will ideally come from a plant, agricultural, construction equipment, or engineering background. Candidates from an automotive service environment will not be considered for this position.
Key Responsibilities of a Service Controller:
* Coordinate and schedule service engineers and workshop activities.
* Manage daily service operations to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently.
* Liaise with customers regarding service appointments, breakdowns, and repairs.
* Allocate work to engineers and maximise utilisation of resources.
* Monitor job progress and ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.
* Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
* Work closely with parts, workshop, and service teams to ensure the smooth running of operations.
* Handle customer queries and provide updates on repair status.
* Assist in the planning and administration of preventative maintenance schedules.
Candidate Requirements for this Service Controller position:
* Previous experience in a Service Controller, Service Coordinator, or similar role.
* Background within plant machinery, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, or a related engineering industry.
* Strong organisational and scheduling skills.
* Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
* Ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
* Competent IT and administrative skills.
* Proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
