Service Estimator

We are seeking a dedicated Service Estimator to join our dynamic team, responsible for assessing customer needs and providing accurate service project estimates. This key role ensures the seamless operation of the service team by bridging communication between customers, suppliers, and internal departments to deliver exceptional service outcomes.

Compensation: $28.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver service repair quotes by compiling information from technicians, customers, and internal service teams.
• Communicate professionally with customers to provide detailed quotes and ensure understanding.
• Track and follow up on outstanding quotes while maintaining a prioritized list to ensure timely service delivery.
• Gather parts pricing and additional information from manufacturers and vendors.
• Create new preventative maintenance (PM) proposals based on customer specifications.
• Review and revise existing PM proposals, balancing customer needs with business requirements.
• Perform other departmental tasks as needed to support operations.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to manage and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of diesel and gaseous engines, generators, controls, and systems is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork abilities.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and administrative tasks, including typing and email management.

Required Experience & Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a service department environment, with a combination of office and field experience in the engine or power generation service industry preferred.
• Basic parts knowledge of diesel engines and generators preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude or the ability to translate technician diagnoses into detailed parts and labor estimates.
