Service Manager – Construction Company Portsmouth PERMANENT | Full Time £55,000 - £65,000
Job Summary
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's service operations, ensuring efficient delivery of maintenance, repair, and after-sales support services for construction projects and clients. This role manages service teams, coordinates schedules, maintains high levels of customer satisfaction, and ensures compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Service Operations Management
* Plan, organize, and supervise all service and maintenance activities.
* Coordinate service schedules, workforce allocation, and resource planning to maximise efficiency.
* Monitor service performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure timely completion of service requests, warranty work, and maintenance contracts.
Team Leadership
* Lead, mentor, and develop service technicians, supervisors, and support staff.
* Conduct performance evaluations and identify training and development opportunities.
* Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and customer-focused service.
Client Relationship Management
* Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding service-related matters.
* Maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
* Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
* Monitor customer satisfaction and implement strategies to enhance service quality.
Compliance and Safety
* Ensure all service activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
* Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental procedures.
* Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain service quality and compliance.
Reporting and Administration
* Prepare regular reports on service performance, key metrics, and operational activities.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, service histories, and customer interactions.
* Utilize service management systems and software to track work orders and project status.
Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction service management, facilities maintenance, or a related industry.
* Proven experience leading teams and managing service operations.
* Strong knowledge of construction processes, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
* Experience with service management software and project management tools.
