Service Manager – Young People’s Supported Accommodation
Are you within children’s services, supported accommodation or leaving-care services looking for your next opportunity?
We’re recruiting for a Service Manager to lead a young people’s supported accommodation service in North Liverpool.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands that good support isn’t about doing everything for a young person – it’s about giving them the skills, confidence, boundaries and encouragement to become increasingly independent.
The Role
As Service Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the service, ensuring young people receive safe, consistent and person-centred support.
You’ll:
* Lead, support and develop the staff team
* Maintain high standards of safeguarding and professional practice
* Oversee support plans, risk assessments and young people’s progress
* Promote independence, education, employment and life skills
* Ensure records, policies and procedures are maintained to a high standard
* Work closely with social workers, local authorities and other professionals
* Support staff supervision, training and performance
* Contribute to audits, quality assurance and service development
* Ensure the service operates in line with its Statement of Purpose, relevant legislation, safeguarding requirements and regulatory standards
Who Are We Looking For?
We’re open to speaking with experienced professionals from backgrounds including supported accommodation, leaving care, children’s residential services and other relevant young people’s services.
Ideally, you’ll have:
* Strong experience working with children or young people
* Previous senior, team leader, deputy or management experience
* A relevant Level 3 qualification or above
* A strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management
* Experience supporting young people with complex needs
* Confidence managing and developing a staff team
* Good knowledge of professional recording, support planning and multi-agency working
* A genuine understanding of the difference between supporting independence and providing residential care
* A willingness to undertake further management/regulatory qualifications where required
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who can create a service where young people feel safe, respected and supported while being encouraged to take the next steps towards adulthood and independence.
If you’re an experienced children’s or young people’s professional who wants to step into a role where you can genuinely shape the culture and quality of a service, we’d love to hear from you.
