Job Description - Service Quality Improvement Lead

Service Quality Improvement Lead

Based in Dumfries, requires travel around Scotland and north of England
Salary: From £38,500 to £49,500

Greenleaf House is a fast growing, trauma -informed residential childcare organisation, dedicated to providing high -quality therapeutic care for children and young people across Scotland. Since 2018, we have expanded to nine residential homes and through care flats, with ambitious plans for further growth across the UK. We are committed to delivering excellence in care, education, and therapeutic practice, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the children and young people we support.

Job Purpose

The Service Quality Improvement Lead is tasked with enhancing the quality of care and services provided to children and young people in our homes across Scotland and the north of England. This role involves assessing current care practices, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to elevate the standard of care in accordance with Scottish and English regulations and best practices.

The individual will work closely with residential care teams, social workers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with national care standards and to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for all residents. The Service Quality Improvement Lead will monitor key performance indicators, conduct regular audits, and provide training and support to staff. The ultimate goal is to promote positive outcomes for children and young people, ensuring that their well -being, safety, and development are prioritised in every aspect of residential care.

Main Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Regulatory Compliance:

·        Stay updated on all relevant regulations, legislation, and standards related to children's residential care in Scotland and England.

·        Ensure the facility's policies and procedures align with current regulatory requirements.

·        Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret and apply regulations effectively.

Policy Development and Implementation:

·        Develop and update policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

·        Oversee the implementation of policies throughout the facility, ensuring staff understanding and adherence.

Monitoring and Auditing:

·        Establish and execute a comprehensive monitoring and auditing program to assess compliance levels.

·        Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.

·        Conduct Reg44 audits in compliance with English regulations.

·        Collaborate with external agencies for third -party audits and inspections.

Staff Training and Development:

·        Develop and deliver training programs for staff on compliance -related topics.

·        Ensure all staff members are aware of and understand their responsibilities regarding compliance.

Incident Management:

·        Develop and implement a robust incident reporting and investigation system.

·        Lead investigations into incidents related to non -compliance and develop corrective action plans.

Documentation and Record -Keeping:

·        Establish and maintain a comprehensive system for documenting compliance activities and records.

·        Ensure timely and accurate reporting to regulatory authorities.

Communication:

·        Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, responding to inquiries and providing necessary documentation.

·        Communicate compliance expectations to all stakeholders within the organization.

Continuous Improvement:

·        Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in compliance processes and systems.

·        Collaborate with relevant departments to implement improvements and drive a culture of compliance.


Key Performance Indicators:

·        Ensure services work within legislation and frameworks to drive improvement.

·        Work force developmental improvements across all services.

·        Monthly compliance and quality assurance reports produced to meet deadlines.

·        Build positive working relationships with the Care Inspectorate and Ofsted and to support business growth.

Requirements

Significant experience managing and auditing residential children's home
Relevant care management and leadership qualifications
Understanding of both Care Inspectorate and Ofsted regulations and expectations
Understanding and experience of Reg44
