Service Technician

Location: Congleton, Cheshire
Pay Rate: £14.00 - £16.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm (Permanent contract after 12 weeks)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Service Technician to join a well established engineering business based in Congleton. The successful candidate will work on specialist Thermal Hydrolysis Plants (THPs), carrying out maintenance and servicing activities at wastewater treatment plants across the UK and Europe.

About the Business

Our client is a global engineering business specialising in sustainable technology solutions for the wastewater industry. They design, install, and maintain advanced Thermal Hydrolysis Plants (THPs) that help wastewater treatment facilities improve efficiency, recover valuable resources, and support more sustainable operations worldwide.

This is a field based role, and the successful candidate must be comfortable working away from home during the week. Travel and accommodation will be arranged and provided by the company for all work requiring overnight stays, including UK and European assignments.

The Role

Duties will include:

* Carrying out mechanical maintenance, servicing, and repairs on Thermal Hydrolysis Plant (THP) equipment.

* Supporting planned maintenance activities, inspections, and fault finding at wastewater treatment plants.

* Working on client sites across the UK and Europe, Monday to Friday.

* Assisting with equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting when required.

* Completing service reports and communicating effectively with customers and colleagues.

* Supporting stock control and workshop activities at the Congleton base.

Requirements, Experience & Skills

Essential:

* Previous hands on mechanical or industrial maintenance experience.

* Experience working away from home during the working week.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Right to work in the UK.

* Good communication and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Comfortable working in industrial environments.

Desirable:

* Mechanical fitting experience.

* Experience servicing industrial machinery or process equipment.

* Previous experience within wastewater, utilities, manufacturing, engineering, or similar industrial environments.
