Alecto Recruitment is recruiting for a leading specialist engineering business looking to add a Field Service Technician to its team.

You'll work as a Field Service Technician / Service Engineer, maintaining and repairing specialist machinery both at customer sites and within the workshop.
Day-to-day you'll be:
Servicing and maintaining specialist machinery Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults Attending breakdowns and customer callouts Carrying out repairs and warranty work Completing PDI and commissioning work on new machines Using diagnostic equipment to identify faults Reading hydraulic and electrical schematics Advising customers on equipment operation and maintenanceThis is a proper hands-on engineering role where you'll get exposure to mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems rather than being stuck doing the same jobs every day.
What are we looking for?
We're interested in hearing from engineers from a variety of backgrounds, including:
Field Service Engineer | Service Technician | Plant Fitter | Plant Engineer | Mobile Plant Fitter | Heavy Plant Engineer | Agricultural Engineer | Hydraulic Engineer | Mechanical Engineer | Diesel Engineer | Construction Equipment Engineer | Maintenance Engineer
Experience with plant machinery, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, powered access, heavy vehicles, hydraulics or similar equipment would transfer well.
You'll need good fault-finding ability, a full UK driving licence and be comfortable travelling to customer sites as part of a field-based position.
If you're mechanically minded, comfortable with fault finding and want to develop your skills on specialist machinery that most engineers never get the opportunity to work on, this could be a great next move.
