Sewing Machinist

Our client is one of Britain’s leading manufacturers of high-quality upholstered furniture. The are currently looking for a Sewing Machinist to join their hardworking and dedicated team in Hastings, East Sussex.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within industrial sewing or furniture upholstery, be able to read drawings and follow instructions, possess good communication skills and be a strong team player.

As a Sewing Machinist you will be operating sewing machines to prepare bespoke upholstery coverings for high-end sofas, chairs, cushions and stalls, you will match complicated fabric prints as well as stitch zips and piping into seams.

The Ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

• Demonstrable experience within industrial sewing or furniture upholstery
• Quality checking experience
• Ability to read drawings and follow instruction
• Be a strong team player
• Possess good communication skills

Your duties as a Sewing Machinist would be:

• Operating sewing machines to prepare bespoke upholstery coverings for high-end sofas, chairs, cushions and stalls
• Matching complicated fabric prints
• Stitching zips and piping into seams
• Quality checking of produced work

Salary:

£12.21 per hour

Hours:

• Monday – Thursday, 7.30am – 4.30pm and Friday, 7.30am – 12pm
• Full Time, Permanent
