SharePoint Solution Architect

Requirements

• Design a metadata -driven SharePoint Online document management architecture capable of securely storing and managing high -volume, sensitive employee records.
  
• Define the overall information architecture, including site collections, document libraries, metadata schema, search configuration, and retention readiness.
  
• Ensure the solution is reusable and scalable, aligned to a “design once, use many times” principle.
  

• UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018
  
• Public sector information security standards
  
• Organisational information governance policies
  

• Define the target -state migration architecture from multiple legacy repositories into SharePoint Online.
  
• Approve migration safeguards, rollback strategies, and validation approaches.
  
• Define handling strategies for macros, hyperlinks and complex document types.
  

• Act as design authority and support solution approval through relevant technical and programme governance forums.
  
• Provide architectural assurance throughout build, migration and handover phases.
  

• Senior -level experience designing enterprise SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365 document management solutions.
  
• Proven delivery of high -volume, sensitive data repositories (e.g. payroll, HR, finance).
  
• Strong expertise in metadata -led design, search optimisation and information architecture.
  
• Deep understanding of Microsoft 365 security and compliance controls.
  
• Experience working in regulated or public sector environments.
  
  

• Experience replacing or consolidating legacy EDMS platforms.
  
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview and retention concepts.
  

• Approved SharePoint solution architecture
