Sheet Metal Foreman

We’re looking for a Sheet Metal Foreman to join a specialist engineering business in Hyde.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong sheet metal fabrication experience and the confidence to supervise others, as around 90% of your time will still be spent working on the tools, with the remaining time focused on organising workflow, allocating jobs and supporting the wider team.

What will you be doing as a Sheet Metal Foreman?

* Carrying out hands-on sheet metal fabrication for the majority of the working week

* Producing high-quality work where finish and appearance are particularly important

* Allocating jobs and organising daily workflow across the shop floor

* Supervising and supporting other members of the fabrication team

* Taking part in production meetings

* Helping ensure work is completed efficiently and to the required standard

* Supporting the training and development of an apprentice

* Balancing production pace with the care and attention needed for more detailed work

What will you need?

* Strong previous sheet metal fabrication experience

* Previous experience supervising or leading others

* Ability to organise workloads and prioritise jobs

* Confidence working at pace while maintaining a high standard of finish

* A hands-on approach and willingness to remain heavily involved in fabrication work
