Join a Growing Renewable Energy Business
Our client is a respected and rapidly expanding renewable energy contractor delivering high-quality infrastructure and energy projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to support the delivery of industry-leading health, safety, environmental and quality standards throughout the business.
Working closely with the SHEQ Manager and project delivery teams, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance, improving processes and promoting best practice across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects.
This is a predominantly field-based position, with regular site visits (typically 3-4 days per week) across the South East and 1-2 days based from the Eastbourne office.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the ongoing management and continual improvement of the company's SHEQ management systems.
* Review project health, safety and environmental documentation as part of the project approval process.
* Conduct specialist assessments where suitably qualified and competent, including:
* Fire Risk Assessments
* COSHH Assessments
* Environmental Assessments
* Lifting Operations Assessments
* Undertake desktop and compliance audits to ensure project teams maintain required standards and documentation.
* Carry out site inspections and audits, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
* Assist in accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
* Provide SHEQ advice and guidance to project managers, supervisors and site teams.
* Contribute to the development, review and enhancement of company policies, processes, procedures and documentation.
* Support the enforcement of legislative, regulatory and client-specific requirements.
* Promote a proactive safety culture and environmental awareness across all business activities.
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience in a SHEQ Advisor, HSE Advisor or Health & Safety Advisor role.
* Experience within renewables, utilities, construction, infrastructure, civil engineering or a related sector.
* Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
* Experience carrying out audits, inspections and risk assessments.
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
