Brief

Shift Assistant Estate Manager needed for a large, well-known Facilities Management organisation based in Birmingham who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Shift Assistant Estate Manager that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of collaborating with the other AEM's to provide an efficient and cohesive service across the Estate and managing the day-today performance of the relevant shift team.

The successful candidate would have the relevant qualifications in either Electrical - i.e. Level 3 in Electrical Installations, 18th Edition and AM2 or Mechanical - i.e. City and Guilds Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing or Pipefitting. etc. and have a keen interest in Estate Management. If you have commercial experience in a hospital setting that would be a plus!

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Shift Assistant Estate Manager will include:

Direct management of a team of 7 that includes Electrical, Mechanical and Fabric personnel
Work in collaboration with the other AEM's to provide an efficient and cohesive service across the Estate
Manage the day-to-day performance of the relevant Acute Shift team, assisting as required, including Planned, Corrective and Reactive maintenance tasks
Managing, directing, and assisting staff in a safe and efficient manner
Deliver training to staff on relevant subjects as appropriate so experience is gained (e.g., toolbox talks & trade specific subject matter)
Regularly meet with directly employed staff (collectively irrespective of their trade function and individually) to discuss performance and complete employee appraisals
Manage absence and utilization within the team effectively ensuring the rota is covered as necessary

What experience you need to be the successful Shift Assistant Estate Manager:

Electrical

Electrical Installation - Approved apprenticeship with either:
Base electrical qualifications C&G Part A & B
City & Guild 236 Part 1 & 2
City & Guilds 2330 / 2365 levels 2 & 3 Diploma
EAL Electrical installation QCF Diploma levels 1, 2 & 3 (601/0409/0 & 600/6724/X & 600/9331/6)
EAL Level 3 Electrotechnical NVQ or C & G 2357 level 3 NVQ
AM2
18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations C& G 2382-18

Or Mechanical

City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Level 2 & 3
City & Guilds Pipefitting & Plumbing Level 2 & 3
City & Guilds Plumbing Level 2 & 3
Relevant City & Guilds Mechanical qualifications

Other

Management experience
Driving licence

This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
