Are you a hands-on maintenance professional looking to step into a proactive role within a dynamic manufacturing environment? We’re seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Engineering Support Technician to work closely with the Head of Engineering (HoE) to ensure the efficiency, safety, and reliability of all plant machinery, utilities, and maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive support to the HoE in maintaining effective plant operations across all departments.
Play an active and collaborative role in the Engineering Department's day-to-day operations.
Promote and uphold strong Health & Safety practices across the site.
Assist in the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and contribute to their ongoing development.
Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues to minimise production downtime.
Conduct machinery checks and repairs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Liaise with the Production team to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal disruption.
Attend breakdown callouts and provide cover for shifts during holidays, sickness, or training absences.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, particularly in relation to mechanical and electrical equipment.
Uphold confidentiality regarding all company and employee information.
Support in the completion of HSE audits, risk assessments, and COSHH documentation.
Actively participate in engineering staff training and development.
Record and maintain relevant H&S documentation in line with legal and company policies.
Ensure engineering workspaces are kept clean, tidy, and compliant at all times.
Engage in ongoing personal development and attend training as required.
Requirements
Proven experience in a mechanical/electrical maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.Strong understanding of H&S regulations, COSHH, and safe working systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including callouts.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
