Shift Engineer

Albert Bartlett has been a cornerstone of the potato industry since 1948, dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in producing fresh, chilled, and frozen potato products. As we continue to innovate and expand our operation, we are looking for a motivated Shift Engineer to join our dynamic team.

In the role of Shift Engineer, you will play a crucial part in ensuring optimal performance of our processing and packing machinery. Your expertise will be essential in minimizing equipment downtime and maintaining a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all production equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues as they arise, minimizing downtime production.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery as required.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and improvement tracking.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
• Work closely with the production team to understand equipment needs and ensure optimal performance.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Shift Pattern- 7/14- rotating days and nights

• Relevant engineering qualifications or a time-served apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience in a similar engineering role within a manufacturing or food processing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations related to engineering and manufacturing.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills for effectively collaborating with team members and management.
• Flexibility to work shifts and respond to operational needs as required.
