Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Shift Engineer to join a major tunnelling scheme.
You will be responsible for setting out and overseeing a range of tunnel-related construction activities, including walkways, bridges, and cross passage packages, while ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications.
Shift Engineer Responsibilities:
* Setting out works including walkways, access bridges, and cross passage packages.
* Supporting the delivery of tunnelling and associated civil engineering works.
* Setting out and supervising: Tunnelling works, FRC works, SCL works and Shuttering and concrete works.
* Ensuring works are completed in line with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements.
* Undertaking QA/QC inspections and maintaining quality records.
Shift Engineer Requirements:
* Previous experience working as a Shift Engineer on tunnelling, rail, infrastructure, or heavy civil engineering projects.
* Strong setting out experience using modern surveying equipment.
* Experience with tunnelling, FRC, SCL, and shuttering/concrete works.
* Good understanding of QA/QC processes and construction record keeping.
Essential Qualifications:
* CSCS White Card
* SMSTS or SSSTS
